Our work provides adolescents with the ability to lead a healthy life regardless of who they are and where they live.
We provide SRH and life skills education including relevant resources for adolescents throughout Siaya County and other parts of Kenya as necessary. COAH-K works with other organizations to maintain recent SRH research and assist in making this information available on a broad scale.
Together with adolescents we use social justice and feminist principles to identify and provide the tools that help them to make informed decisions and choices regarding their SRH and life in general. We collaborate and form coalitions with various stakeholders including the Kenya national and county governments, ministries of health, non-governmental organizations, community based organizations, private entities and citizens to extend our reach and ensure that adolescents have access to a range of resources.
COAH-K envisions a country where the large population of adolescents and young people will have equitable access to all SRH services and life skills, including but not limited to: family planning education and services, contraception, STI/HIV prevention and testing services, and treatment where needed, awareness surrounding SRH issues, no stigma/discrimination around SRH services in the healthcare system, and preventive and routine tests for SRH morbidities.
